The purpose of this program is to reduce CO2 emissions in Japan's shipping industry and create demand for zero-emission ships and other vessels ahead of the rest of the world through promoting market introduction, while strengthening industrial competitiveness and achieving economic growth, by providing subsidies for projects involving the introduction of equipment and other items necessary for vessels that use hydrogen, ammonia, methanol, or electricity as propulsion energy sources.
