Of the nine children aged 3 to 5 years old on board, six sustained minor injuries, including bruises and nosebleeds. One staff member was unharmed. According to the Kamagaya Police Department, the shuttle bus, operated by 'Kamagaya Sakura Kindergarten,' was traveling on a single-lane city road when it crossed the center line and collided with a residential fence on the opposite side.
Kamagaya Sakura Kindergarten confirmed that the bus operation was outsourced to an external company, and Mr. Miyashita was a substitute driver for the regular operator.
