Teen's Body Found in Car Trunk: Two Men Arrested on Suspicion of Abandoning Corpse

Two 23-year-old men were arrested in Tochigi Prefecture on suspicion of abandoning a body after they allegedly drove to a police station with an 18-year-old boy's remains in their car trunk.

Gruesome Discovery at Police Station

The suspects, both unemployed from Takanezawa Town, Tochigi Prefecture, arrived at the Sakura Police Station parking lot in Sakura City around 12:45 a.m. on the 16th. Upon their arrival, officers discovered the body of the teen, who also was unemployed and a resident of the prefecture, in the trunk of their vehicle. The victim was reported to have suffered multiple external injuries.

An Ongoing Investigation

The two men had gone to the station to turn themselves in. Police have not disclosed whether the suspects have admitted to the allegations. Authorities believe the men have knowledge of the circumstances leading to the boy's death and are investigating the timeline of events.

Prior Reports and a Missing Person's Case

The case unfolded after a report was made on the 14th about a suspicious vehicle in the area under the jurisdiction of the Sakura Police Station. The following day, on the 15th, the boy's family filed a missing person report, stating their son had not returned home for several days, prompting a police search prior to the grim discovery.
