A 60-year-old unemployed man has been arrested in a business hotel in Ibaraki Prefecture in connection with an armed robbery at a jewelry and precious metals buying store in Hanyu City, Saitama Prefecture, which occurred two days ago. The suspect denies the charges.

The incident took place on September 20th, around 4:30 PM, when a man forced his way into a precious metals buying store in Higashi, Hanyu City, Saitama Prefecture. He threatened the female store manager with a knife, demanding money by saying, Give me money if you don't want to be killed. The robber then bound the manager's upper body and both legs with adhesive tape, which he retrieved from a paper bag, before making off with 56,000 yen in cash and one smartphone. He then fled the scene in his own car.
The store manager was unharmed during the incident.
Suspect Apprehended in Ibaraki
Police launched a robbery investigation and traced the suspect to a business hotel in Ibaraki Prefecture. Today (September 22nd), Hiroki Okusawa, a 60-year-old unemployed man residing in Meiwa Town, Gunma Prefecture, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and other charges.
