The Blaze
The fire started around 4 a.m. in a residential area of Oyamachi. It took firefighters nearly two hours to extinguish the flames, which completely destroyed one wooden home and damaged three others.
Victims
Two bodies were discovered in the burned remains of the primary residence. The home was occupied by a 99-year-old woman and her 64-year-old daughter, both of whom remain unaccounted for.
