A three-car collision at an intersection in Kagoshima City on Sunday resulted in three people being transported to the hospital with injuries, according to the Kagoshima Chuo Police Station.
The accident occurred around 12:30 PM at an intersection on a prefectural road in Sakamoto-cho. Police reports indicate that a light vehicle, allegedly entering the intersection against a red light, collided with a passenger car that was waiting to make a right turn.
The impact triggered a chain reaction, causing a second light vehicle to rear-end the initially struck passenger car.
Injuries and Investigation
The driver of the passenger car, a female, and a male passenger in the front seat, along with the female driver of the second light vehicle, all reported neck pain and were taken to a nearby hospital for examination.
Authorities are focusing their investigation on the elderly female driver of the first light vehicle. Police suspect she entered the intersection on a red light and are working to determine the precise circumstances leading to the crash.
The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers on the road and the importance of attentiveness, particularly at intersections, for drivers of all ages.
